Series 3 • Episode 1 - Arts as Measurement
Amplifying Artistry is back for Series 3, and it’s bolder than ever!
After 20 episodes exploring creativity across North Lanarkshire, we’re diving even deeper. This new series brings longer episodes, an incredible lineup of guests, and the same unwavering passion for the arts.
In this episode, we explore how creativity helps us understand, express, and evaluate what traditional metrics often miss. From emotional insight to cultural health, we look at how the arts can reveal the human stories behind the data.
Our feature interview is with Dr. Marisa de Andrade: Health Policy researcher, Senior Lecturer in Health, Science and Society, and former investigative journalist and performer. Marisa shares her unique perspective on the intersection of academia and the arts, and how creativity can help us better understand ourselves and the world around us.
We also catch up with three North Lanarkshire-based artists: Siobhan Argyle, Hannah Doyle, and Emma Ferla, who reflect on how the arts have helped them and their communities navigate emotions and wellbeing.
And new for Series 3: “Time to Listen” - a moment to pause. In this episode, enjoy the beautiful sounds of Afton Strings recorded at a Music in the Museum event, alongside a powerful reading of “Bonnie Scotland” by creative writing participant Mick O’Neill.
